يسعدني أن أشارككم التقدم الكبير الذي تم تحقيقه خلال أول 100 يوم لي في قيادة أكبر مشروع مشترك لإنتاج النفط والغاز في مصر، مؤسسة البترول الكويتية kpc. لقد مر الوقت بسرعة، وقد تميزت هذه الأيام المائة بإنجازات مهمة لكل من مؤسسة البترول الكويتية وقطاع الطاقة في مصر. أود أولاً وقبل كل شيء أن أعرب عن خالص امتناني لسعادة كريم بدوي على ثقته ودعمه الثابت لي في تكليفي بهذه المسؤولية. كما أعرب عن تقديري العميق لشريكتنا القديمة شركة Apache Corporation لتعاونها الوثيق والتزامها الحقيقي بالعمل كفريق واحد متكامل. وفي نفس السياق، أود أن أشكر عائلة مؤسسة البترول الكويتية بأكملها، شركة خالدة للبترول (أباتشي) على تفانيهم ومرونتهم واحترافيتهم في جميع مواقعنا. في البداية، حددنا ثلاثة أهداف أساسية واعتمدنا نهج فريق العمل لتحقيقها بسرعة: 1) السلامة أولاً: نظرًا للبصمة التشغيلية الواسعة لمؤسسة البترول الكويتية في الصحراء الغربية في مصر – من غرب النيل إلى الحدود الليبية ومن البحر الأبيض المتوسط إلى صعيد مصر – تمثل إدارة القيادة وسلامة العمليات تحديًا كبيرًا. لقد قمنا معًا بتنفيذ خطة تحسين الأداء لمدة 100 يوم (PIP) والتي تتكون من 15 مؤشرًا رئيسيًا، تم إغلاقها جميعًا بنجاح خلال هذه الفترة. ونتيجة لذلك، سجلنا صفر حوادث قيادة وصفر حوادث مضيعة للوقت، مدعومًا بـ 15 زيارة لمواقع القيادة مع التركيز القوي على سلامة العمليات والمشاركة الميدانية. بالتوازي، قمنا بأمان بتنفيذ حملة كبيرة لـ TAR وإغلاق محطة الغاز الرئيسية لدينا (محطة السلام)، والتي تم تسليمها في الوقت المحدد ودون حوادث قابلة للتسجيل، مما يزيد من تعزيز سلامة وموثوقية منشآتنا. 2) موظفونا، قوتنا: مع أكثر من 8500 موظف وحوالي 120 شركة مقاولة تعمل معنا، وضعنا موظفينا في مركز جدول أعمالنا. لقد أطلقنا مبادرات لتعزيز بيئة العمل، ودعمنا أنشطة بناء الفريق لتعزيز عقلية “الفريق الواحد”، وقمنا بتنفيذ عدد من تعديلات السياسات لمعالجة المخاوف المشروعة للموظفين وتحسين الروح المعنوية بشكل عام. 3) الإنتاج، الإنتاج، الإنتاج: على جبهة الإنتاج، من خلال تبسيط العمليات، ودمج أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي في سير العمل لدينا، ونشر حوالي 14 حلاً مبتكرًا عبر العمليات، حققنا بالفعل إنتاجًا إضافيًا بنسبة 5٪ تقريبًا (على أساس بنك إنجلترا)، مع توقع المزيد من التحسينات مع نضوج هذه المبادرات. هذه النتائج هي شهادة على ما يمكننا تحقيقه عندما نعمل معًا بوضوح الهدف والاحترام المتبادل والالتزام المشترك بالسلامة والأداء. وأنا واثق من أن فريق مؤسسة البترول الكويتية يسير الآن على المسار الصحيح لتحقيق التميز بأمان وخلق قيمة أكبر لمصر وشركائنا.
One hundred days in this role have been successfully completed!
I am pleased to share the significant progress achieved during my first 100 days leading Egypt’s largest oil and gas production joint venture, KPC.
Time has moved quickly, and these 100 days have been marked by important milestones for both KPC and Egypt’s energy sector.
First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to His Excellency Karim Badawi for his trust and unwavering support in entrusting me with this responsibility. I also extend my deep appreciation to our long-standing partner Apache Corporation for their close collaboration and genuine commitment to operating as one integrated team. On the same note, I would like to thank the entire KPC family Khalda Petroleum Company (Apache) for their dedication, resilience, and professionalism across all our locations.
At the outset, we defined three primary objectives and adopted a task-force approach to deliver them with agility:
1) Safety First: Given KPC’s extensive operational footprint in the western desert of Egypt – from the West Nile to the Libyan borders and from the Mediterranean Sea to Upper Egypt – managing driving and process safety is a major challenge. Together, we implemented a 100-day Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) comprising 15 key indicators, all of which were successfully closed out within this period.
As a result, we recorded zero driving incidents and Zero LTIs, supported by 15 leadership site visits with a strong focus on process safety and field engagement. In parallel, we safely executed a major TAR and shutdown campaign at our main Gas plant ( Salam plant) , delivered on time and without recordable incidents, further strengthening the integrity and reliability of our facilities.
2) Our people, Our Strength: With more than 8,500 employees and around 120 contractor companies working with us, we placed our people at the centre of our agenda. We launched initiatives to enhance the work environment, supported team-building activities to reinforce a “one team” mindset, and implemented a number of policy adjustments to address legitimate employee concerns and improve overall morale.
3) Production, Production, Production: On the production front, by streamlining processes, integrating AI tools into our workflows, and deploying around 14 innovative solutions across operations, we have already delivered approximately 5% incremental production (on a BOE basis), with further improvements expected as these initiatives mature.
These results are a testament to what we can achieve when we work together with clarity of purpose, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to safety and performance.
I am confident that the KPC team is now on the right trajectory to safely attain excellence and create even greater value for Egypt and our partners.
